#Kurzweil pc2x adapter for free
You can try the GIG piano for free by using the download in combination with this GIG compatible synth player.VSampler. I know the center channel layer was the session 9ft grand off the 880. When I get home, Ill post exatly what the layers were. on thier own, none of the 3 sounds I used held up in the mix, layered, I got exactly what I was looking for.

I just finished a song using this set up, and technique, and I ran into the same issues weve been talkin about here. Alone, a sound doesnt hold up in the mix, but layer a second sound with it, and tweak as needed and see if it fits. I actually find myself doing that a bit lately. What i find myself doing alot, is mixing the session card sound with another sample from some other source and blending to taste. Although, like I said, they are solid sounds. I actually find myself using the piano sound from the internal selection that the session card. I have that exact set up in my studio, (JV-880 with the session card), and I do like it, but I would also add that, where the sounds are in my opinion, solid, they are limited. You can find samples of it in the Piano Shoot out mentioned above. That also has some nice piano sounds on it. That way you can play it, in a limited store only fashion, but that should give an excellent reading of a sample set for you.Īnother option I have that you might be interested in, is going with a hardware module, such as the Roland JV-880 or JV 1010 with a "Sessions" expansion card. IF not call the company you want to hear the samples from and ask them to send a demo to the store. If you just have to play and hear you playing a sample.go to your local software/recording store, and ask them if they have any loaded. It ususally more than enough to get a good idea of what the samples can do for you. In my expierience almost every company treats professionals properly.so I would call the Sample Companies up.tell them your ually they have demos of their piano samples playing all naked and alone and will email an mp3 or snail mail you a CD. It was recorded using only my Kurzweil and Sonar. The overall tone of the Kurzweil piano, while quite good, is clearly a digital.I'd say a "70" on an authenticity scale, imo.while I'd like something around 90 or better.įor anyone that's interested, I uploaded my first project in Sonar today to my website. The main problem I have with my Kurzweil in this regard (solo piano) is that at times sustained notes and their lingering overtones "ring out" in a way that is just so fake sounding. I do want something that will stand alone as well, for solo piano recordings. In any case, I reckon that most of the ones mentioned here are near awesome and should be more than suitable in most mixes. I'd hate to plunk down $300+ on a product that will be just a hair better than my Kurzweil PC2X, or perhaps be obsolete in 6 months. To my knowledge, these companies do not offer a "free trial", do they?
